LARGO -- Pinellas County sheriff's deputies arrested 10 exotic dancers at Jake's Cabaret on U.S. 19 early Friday evening.
The arrests come after sheriff's officials visited earlier this month on a separate investigation and noticed violations of a county ordinance that prohibits nudity in establishments that serve alcohol, said sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Greg Tita.
Undercover officers returned Friday to the club at U.S. 19 and Ulmerton Road to see whether the violations continued and made the arrests between 7 and 8 p.m.
"These girls had some pretty snazzy Brazilian attire that showed a little more than the average T-back," Tita said. "They saw all the girls in violation."
According to arrest affidavits, a few of the women were doing more than dancing Friday.
Five were charged with simulating sex acts. Brenda Sue Ruiz, 26, of Clearwater was accused of simulating a sex act with another dancer, Cathleen Camp, 29, of Pinellas Park.
Julie Kyper, 22, of Clearwater was accused of simulating sex. Kelly Ann Heflin, 28, of Clearwater was accused of grinding against a deputy. And Anchana Hurlbutt, 32, of Clearwater was charged with simulating a sex act on a deputy during a "dollar dance." Ruiz, who goes by the name "Taylor," faces a prostitution charge; deputies said she offered to have sex with a deputy for $150. Also arrested were Ashlie Stubitsch, 19, of Tampa; Brandy L. Specht, 20, of Holiday; Rebecca S. Bostdorff, 24, of Clearwater; Inger Marie Sawyer, 21, of Tampa; and Cherie L. Cravens, 18, of Palm Harbor.
