Easter Bunny Bash, for children 10 and younger, is being planned for 11 a.m. April 13 at the Land O'Lakes Recreation Complex, 3032 Collier Parkway. Paradise Lions Club and the Nautical Nudists are sponsoring Reggae in Paradise from 2 to 7 p.m. March 31 at the Genesis Center Pool and Lakeside at Paradise Lakes Resort off of U.S. 41. Tickets are $18 in advance or $20 at the door. Music will be by Johukmea and island food by Jerk Hut Restaurant. Mike Johnson will do nude caricatures and there will be dance lessons and contests. Kristen Eady, 17, of Dade City was chosen Miss Pasco County during the recent Pasco County Fair. Kristin Rollins, also of Dade City, was crowned Miss Pasco County Fair and Kristy Stearns of Dade City is the new Miss Heart of Florida. All three were scheduled to ride in the Zephyrhills Founders Day Parade on Saturday.
The Pasco Council of the Florida Association for Family and Community Education will have its quarterly meeting at 10 a.m. March 19 at Clayton Hall at the Pasco Fairgrounds in Dade City. The Lumber Jills and Lumber Jacks of Odessa will host the meeting. The program will be native plants of Florida, and the board will meet at 9 a.m. before the regular meeting. SCORE Chapter 439, serving Pasco and Hernando counties, will host a workshop on "How to Really Start Your Own Business" from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the New River Branch Library, 34043 State Road 54 in Wesley Chapel. The workshop is designed to meet the needs of people in pre-business planning or preparing to make a loan application and needing an organized written business plan. Materials covered include marketing, financials, management and investment. A textbook is provided. Cost is $15, advanced reservations are recommended. Sessions start promptly. A Karaoke Talent Contest is scheduled from 6 to 10:30 p.m. March 31 at Wisteria Senior Center in Land O'Lakes. The event is sponsored by the Central Pasco Optimist Club and is a fundraiser for youth related activities. Entry fee is $20, admission to watch is $2. The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Moon Lake Elementary, 12019 Treebreeze Drive in New Port Richey. Gymnastics, tennis, karate, volleyball and cheerleading are just a few of the activities offered at the Land O'Lakes Recreation Complex, 3032 Collier Parkway. Gymnastics for preschoolers and children ages 4 though 9 and acrobatics and cheerleading for beginners (ages 4-7 up to advanced are offered on Tuesdays. Cost is $21 for one hour for four weeks. Adult and youth tennis for ages 6 and older cost $20 for youth per month and $25 for adults. Bill Macy is the instructor. Private lessons are $25 per lesson. Thursday nights are volleyball nights for people 16 and older. Hours are from 4 to 9 p.m. and are free. Karate is from 7 to 7:45 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and is $24 per month for children ages 5-12.
