ST. PETERSBURG -- SunTrust Bank restored full service to its branch office on Snell Isle after numerous requests from the 3,000 customers who used that branch.
"They've been calling and sending letters to the bank to explain how valuable the office was to residents there," said Kathy James, vice president and marketing manager.
"The bottom line is, we listened," James said.
SunTrust closed the branch at 1351 Snell Isle Blvd. except for drive-through service in August because it acquired another branch in the Northeast Shopping Center area about a mile away. SunTrust originally intended to close the Snell Isle branch completely but left the drive-through open when it realized that SunTrust was the only bank there.
That wasn't enough for customers, James said.
One service will not be restored. James said safe deposit boxes will remain at the Northeast branch at 301 38th Ave. N, where they were moved in August.
