TREASURE ISLAND -- Residents, guests and tourists are invited to attend an open house at City Hall from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday.

City commissioners want to show off the newly redecorated City Hall with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, refreshments and tours. City Hall is behind downtown at 120 108th Ave.

City commissioners will hold their regularly scheduled meeting in the auditorium at 3:30 p.m. Commissioners Stephanie Lavino and Mary Maloof will be installed for additional two-year terms. The city would have had an election Tuesday, but no candidates filed to oppose Lavino or Maloof.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m., followed by the installation at 3:45 p.m. Tours of the building will be offered from 4 to 5 p.m.

The city spent just over $100,000 to redecorate City Hall with new paint, carpet and some additional customer-friendly touches like new counters in the Community Improvement Department. The outside was painted off-white and sage green to match the city's new beach center on Sunset Beach and the clock tower planned for downtown.
