DUNNELLON -- Dunnellon pitcher Tommy Boss made one mistake.

It cost his team a run.

Lecanto's infield made three mistakes. It might have cost the Panthers the game.

Three Lecanto errors, two of which happened in the second inning, led to five unearned runs and Dunnellon cruised to a 6-1 win. Boss (3-2) threw four innings of one-hit ball, allowing only a solo home run to Dalton Meyers in the second.

"They made some errors and we capitalized," Dunnellon coach Mike Payne said.

Meyers' homer gave Lecanto (3-10) a 1-0 lead, but Dunnellon (8-2) tied the game on a homer of its own off Panthers pitcher Eric Stewart (1-2) in the bottom half of the second from Jared Harder.

Five batters later, Mike Payne II blooped a single to centerfield that scored one run, and Boss followed with a bases-loaded fielder's choice for a 3-1 lead. With two outs, Lecanto threw the ball away to bring in two more.

"The difference was the runs we gave them (in the second inning)," Lecanto coach Bill Emerson said.

Lecanto was held to three hits. Ron Curtis had two of them.
