LAND O'LAKES -- Pasco County sheriff's deputies were still searching Wednesday evening for a man who robbed the Bank of America branch at State Road 54 and Collier Parkway earlier in the day, a spokesman said.

The man looked nervous as he robbed the bank, Sheriff's Office spokesman Jon Powers said.

Shortly after 1 p.m., he entered the bank, 22850 State Road 54, and demanded money, Powers said. He inferred that he had a weapon, but no one saw one. There were eight employees and two customers in the bank at the time.

No one was injured, Powers said.

The man put an undisclosed amount of cash into a black zippered bag resembling a shaving kit, Powers said, and ran from the bank. Deputies in helicopters and with dogs were unable to find him.

The man was described as white, in his late 20s or early 30s, 5 feet 10 to 6 feet tall, with reddish-blond hair and sideburns, Powers said. He was wearing a long-sleeved, button-up checkered shirt with the sleeves rolled up, blue jeans, white tennis shoes and a black watch on his left wrist.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Peter Weekes at (800) 854-2862, ext. 7279.
