NEW PORT RICHEY -- Detectives want to talk to a 21-year-old New Port Richey man who they believe has information about a murder last month in the parking lot of the Park Richey apartment complex.

Authorities won't say whether Michael Peter Mitchell, 7827 Riverdale Drive, is a suspect in the Feb. 5 slaying of 27-year-old Jesse James Nacarlo. But detectives haven't been able to find Mitchell, and his friends and family haven't been much help, Pasco Sheriff's Office spokesman Jon Powers said.

"We believe Mitchell has some pertinent information that could assist us in our homicide investigation," Powers said Wednesday.

The Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating Mitchell. Anyone with information about Mitchell's whereabouts is asked to call Detective Pete Weekes at (800) 854-2862, ext. 7279.

The Sheriff's Office has not said how Nacarlo died, other than that he was killed during aparking lot drug brawl. Neighbors told the Times that Nacarlo was stabbed.

Powers would not say if detectives have identified any suspects.
