'Today' correspondent to speak at East Lake

Sylvia Rimm, a psychologist and contributing correspondent to NBC's Today show, will give two free talks this month on "family and school approaches to guiding children toward achievement." She is the author of How Jane Won: The Rimm Report on How Girls Become Successful Women.

Rimm, a clinical professor at Case Western University School of Medicine in Cleveland, will speak:

From 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 27 at Bayshore Baptist Church, 3111 Morrison Ave., Tampa.

From 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 28 at East Lake High School's Theater Auditorium, 1300 Silver Eagle Drive, East Lake.

Her talks are sponsored by several local social service agencies.

Seminole High orchestra puts on dinner show

SEMINOLE -- The Seminole High School Chorus and Orchestra are sponsoring "A Night on Broadway" dinner show as a fundraiser for an international music festival they will attend in April in Toronto.

A spaghetti dinner will be at 7 p.m. March 23 at the First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks, 12685 Ulmerton Road, Largo. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The orchestra will provide dinner music. The chorus will perform after the meal. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased by Friday. Call Fannon at Seminole High School, 547-7536, ext. 152.
