Dinner to honor firefighters

An appreciation dinner will be held for past and present San Antonio volunteer firefighters from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 31 at the St. Anthony Parish Center, 32832 Massachusetts Ave., San Antonio. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children for the dinner, which includes barbecue chicken, baked beans, cole slaw, drink and dessert. A fire truck will be provided for children to sit on and there will be a mini-fire truck for younger children to take rides. The fire department will display historical items such as old photos, newspaper articles and plaques. Fire Chief Troy Newton will present the Fire Fighter of the Year Award. Newspaper, chamber sponsor breakfast

The St. Petersburg Times and the Greater Dade City Chamber of Commerce will hold a Chamber Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at Saint Leo University in the McDonald Center. Pasco County Administrator John Gallagher will be the guest speaker. To RSVP, call (352) 567-3769.

Art club meeting will feature artist

The Zephyrhills Art Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Alice Hall Community Center in Zephyr Park. Tampa artist Mark Menendez will demonstrate his painting techniques. Guests are welcome. The final workshop of the season will be held March 26. For information, call (813) 788-4686.

YMCA offering spring day camp

The East Pasco Family YMCA, 37301 Chapel Hill Loop, Zephyrhills, will be holding a spring camp April 9-13. The day camp is for children ages 5 to 12 and will include activities such as arts and crafts, swimming, games and character development. The cost is $80 per week for YMCA members and $95 per week for program members. An income assistance program is available by filling out a short application. For information, call (813) 780-9622.

Republican Club to discuss health and benefit issues

Pharmacist Alan Brenia will be the guest speaker at the Spirit of '76 Republican Club meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Hong Kong Buffet, 14937 U.S. 301, Dade City. The topic of discussion will be information about generic and brand-name pharmaceuticals and proposed government programs to include drugs in health care benefits.
