Big day for dogs on April 7 in Inverness
The sixth annual Dog A Thon and Dog Fair will be at 9:30 a.m. April 7 at the Citrus County Auditorium, U.S. 41 S, Inverness, at the fairgrounds.
Activities include a dog walk, demonstrations and a fundraiser for several guide dog organizations.
HOMOSASSA -- The Homosassa River Garden Club will meet at the Homosassa Springs Wildlife Center on U.S. 19 on Monday. The social hour begins at 9:30 a.m. and the business meeting begins at 10.
Marie Witt will present the program "Growing and Caring of Orchids." Hostesses for the social will be Valerie Harris, Ludy Kolb, Betsy Brome and Mimi Brockett. Jean Baker will create the floral design. Call 382-2987.
FLORAL CITY -- The Floral City Garden Club will sponsor a Historic Home Flower Show from 1 to 4 p.m. March 24-25. In addition to the flower show, the club will sponsor a garden fair with nearly two dozen individuals selling items related to gardening.
An afternoon tea is included, with a special musical performance by folk singer Pete Hennings.
Admission is $5, and tickets will be sold at the gate to the historic Jont Knight House on Orange Avenue, two doors west of the traffic light on U.S. 41. Call 726-7740.
LECANTO -- The fourth-annual antique tractor show takes place April 1-2 at 6674 S Lewdingar Drive, Homosassa.
Show features antiques, a tractor pull, plowing and sawing demonstrations and a potluck supper both days and entertainment. Free admission. Call Robert or Mary Ann DeSimone 628-5606.
