A parade, a horse show and a craft show are in store.

A parade, a horse show, music of all kinds and a craft show make this weekend full of exciting entertainment options.

A sizable crowd is expected to turn out today to see the sixth annual St. Patrick's Day Parade as it rolls down Main Street in Inverness, beginning at 11 a.m.

Three marching bands, honor guards, a grand marshal and invited guests will make up the parade, which should last about an hour.

The Citrus High Hurricane Marching Band and the St. Andrews and the Sid Heros pipe and drums bands will march and perform in the parade.

Other marching units include the Ancient Order of the Hibernians, the Citrus High Air Force Junior ROTC drill team and the Young Marines honor guard.

Citrus County Supervisor of Elections Susan Gill will be the parade's grand marshal. After the parade, the merchants on the square will have an outdoor yard sale, and the St. Andrews Pipes and Drums band will perform on the courthouse lawn.

In Crystal River, a large craft show will take place at the National Guard Armory.

The Citrus County Crafts Council holds its annual Spring Fling Craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the National Guard Armory, U.S. 19 and Venable Street. The show is also a fundraiser for the Alzheimer Family Organization. Free admission and parking.

Also today, horse fanciers can watch an exciting competition involving the teamwork between horse and rider at the annual Hospice Horse Show, which begins at 9 a.m. today at the Pine Ridge Equestrian Center on Pine Ridge Boulevard.

The horse show includes food, a petting zoo, clowns and a full schedule of horse competition events. The show is a fundraiser for Hospice of Citrus County, which provides medical and lifestyle help to terminally ill patients.

The event features about 60 entries competing in various styles of riding competition. Spectators should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Admission is $2; parking is free.

The sounds of the Andrews Sisters will be recreated by the Apple Blossoms in a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at Curtis Peterson Auditorium in Lecanto. The concert is part of the Central Florida Community College concert series. Admission is $12.
