Mario Party 2

  • PLATFORM: Nintendo 64
  • PRICE: $49.99
  • COMPANY: Nintendo

It's time for another hoedown Mario-style in this sequel to the quintessential party game. Move your character around five sugary-sweet game boards, collecting stars and coins and engaging in mini-games. Strategy and underhanded tricks are the keys here. Grade: A

  • PLATFORM: Dreamcast
  • PRICE: $49.99
  • COMPANY: Sega

Hockey fans rejoice, but not too much. While the Dreamcast's first hockey game is good, it cuts corners in terms of the details and options that made NFL and NBA2K so good. Luckily, it controls as well as any game on the market and looks better too. Grade: B+

Pokemon Stadium

  • PLATFORM: Nintendo 64
  • PRICE: $59.99
  • COMPANY: Nintendo

For Pokemon lovers, this one is heaven on Earth. They now can fight with any of the 151 Pokemon, including ones trained on Game Boy Pokemon games. Using the Transfer Pak, bundled with the Stadium game, players can download info from Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow and play these Game Boy titles on their TVs. Grade: A-

Ridge Racer 64

  • PLATFORM: Nintendo 64
  • PRICE: $49.99
  • COMPANY: Nintendo

Nintendo 64 owners finally get a high-quality racer with this game. Ridge Racer is arcade racing at its finest, emphasizing speed, cool cars and a lot of bumping. It even offers a four-player mode. Grade: A-

  • PLATFORM: Nintendo 64
  • PRICE: $49.99
  • COMPANY: Disney Interactive

Tarzan takes from other successful titles, such as Crash Bandicoot and Donkey Kong Country, and strings together a solid action game. The variety of levels keeps things fresh, but the challenge could be greater. Grade: B-

Blades of Steel 2000

  • PLATFORM: PlayStation
  • PRICE: $39.99
  • COMPANY: Konami

Konami hasn't made a hockey game in 10 years and it shows. From the choppy graphics to the unresponsive control, Blades of Steel 2000 places far behind both EASports' NHL 2000 and 989 Sports' NHL FaceOff 2000. Grade: D
