Isle of Palms plans garage sale March 31

Arts and crafts vendors also are expected to participate. Volunteers at the island's entrance will have maps and directions. Coffee, doughnuts, sodas and other refreshments will be available.

The Isle of Palms is off Gulf Boulevard at 112th Avenue by the Waffle House. The annual event is sponsored by the Isle of Palms Civic Association. As in the past, association directors plan to donate proceeds to the city's police and fire departments, recreation department or the beautification committee.

The centerpiece for the downtown business district is expected to be built this summer as part of a $596,000 street and landscaping project.
