Completion of training

Army Pvt. Jeremy A. Burrows, son of David W. and Carole A. Burrows of St. Petersburg, has completed basic training at Fort Sill, Okla., and advanced training at Fort Huachuca, Ariz. He is stationed at Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas, as a 96 Romeo military intelligence ground surveillance systems operator. Burrows is a 1999 graduate of Boca Ciega High School.

Army Pfc. Yvette L Jackson, daughter of Sallie M. Jackson of St. Petersburg, has graduated from advanced training at Fort Lee, Va. She is a 1998 graduate of Gibbs High School.

Army Pfc. Nicholas R. Sorrell, son of Sonny and Janet Sorrell of Pinellas Park, has completed basic military training at Fort Benning, Ga. He is currently at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas, attending the medical specialist program and will return to Fort Benning for airborne training. Sorrell is a 1999 graduate of Pinellas Park High School.

Air Force Senior Airman Daniel J. Stillwagon, son of Donald R. Stillwagon of St. Petersburg, has graduated from the Airman Leadership School at Cannon Air Force Base, Clovis, N.M. The course focuses on preparing and better equipping senior airmen to serve as supervisors, managers and rating officials as they progress in their enlisted military careers. Stillwagon is a 1993 graduate of Boca Ciega High School.

Air Force Airman Benton W. Spencer, son of Kathleen and Peter W. Spencer of St. Petersburg, has completed basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is a 1999 graduate of Gibbs High School.

Deployments and Assignments

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Gary S. Cales Jr., son of Donna S. Wulff of St. Petersburg, has reported for duty at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia Beach, Va.

Navy Airman Seth A. Carroll a 1995 graduate of Admiral Farragut Academy and Navy Airman Cornelius L. Davis, son of Edsel M. Davis and Loretta D. Williams, both of St. Petersburg, and Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Glenn M. Banks, son of Cheryl L. Banks, also of St. Petersburg, have reported for duty aboard the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, based in Norfolk, Va. Davis is a 1999 graduate of St. Petersburg High School.

Army Spec. Scott B. Munger, son of Rob C. Munger III of St. Petersburg and Leslie B. Goss of Largo, has arrived for duty at Camp Humphreys, Pyongtaek-Gun, South Korea, where he serves as a power plant repairer assigned to 52nd Aviation Regiment. Munger is a 1995 graduate of Osceola High School.

Graduations

Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Edward A. Herbst Jr., son of Barbara and Edward A. Herbst Sr. of St. Petersburg, has graduated with honors from avionics technician class and promoted to his present rank at U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Technical Training Center, Elizabeth City, N.C. Herbst now serves at the Coast Guard Air Station, Clearwater. He is a 1996 graduate of St. Petersburg Catholic High School.

Army Pvt. Jacob V. Canterbury, son of Pam A. Corbin of Kenneth City and Army Pvt. Justin W. Vellenga, son of Perry W. Vellenga and Lisa J. Durbin, both of St. Petersburg, has graduated from the food service specialist advanced individual training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va. Canterbury is a 1999 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School and Vellenga is a 1999 graduate of Gibbs High School.

Navy Ensign Michael L. Lancaster, son of Michele A. Lancaster of St. Petersburg, has graduated from the Submarine Officer Basic Course at the Naval Submarine School, Groton, Conn. He is a 1994 graduate of Admiral Farragut Academy.

Coast Guard Seaman Apprentice Aaron J. Marceron, a 1998 graduate of Boca Ciega High School, has graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Recruit Training Center, Cape May, N.J.
