Who's hot?

RYAN STARKEY, Crystal River: The junior is 4-0 on the mound with 29 strikeouts and has allowed one earned run and 14 base hits in 23 innings. At the plate, Starkey is hitting .455 and has a .636 slugging percentage. In his most recent outing, he tossed a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts in a 16-0 win against South Sumter.

Who's cold?

THE CITRUS BATS: The Hurricanes started the year hot but have been frigid in recent games. Last week, Dunnellon ace Tommy Boss held Citrus to three hits and the 'Canes lost 5-3 in a key district game. Tuesday night, their four-hit performance in a 5-2 win against 2-8 South Sumter left coach Mike Taylor scratching his head.
