Governor names 2 to basin boards

BROOKSVILLE -- Gov. Jeb Bush has named two Hernando County residents to basin boards of the Southwest Florida Water Management District.
Martha "Janey" Baldwin of Brooksville was reappointed to the Hillsborough River Basin Board for a new three-year term, ending in March 2004. The Hillsborough River Basin Board covers parts of Hernando, Pasco, Hillsborough and Polk counties.
JoAnn R. Alexander of Timber Pines was nominated to fill a seat on the Withlacoochee River Basin Board vacated by Karen L. Kraatz, who resigned. Alexander's three-year term expires in March 2004. The Withlacoochee River Basin Board covers parts of Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, Sumter, Marion and Levy counties.
The positions are unpaid. The state Senate still must confirm the nominees.
