Apartment manager charged with fraud
HUDSON -- A Holiday woman was arrested Tuesday on charges of running a scheme to defraud at a Hudson apartment complex, the Pasco Sheriff's Office reported.
Linda Deason George, 37, of 2114 Calusa Trail is accused of stealing more than $10,000 from Hudson Estates by forging checks and federal housing applications between January 1999 and September 2000, reports said. George, who was a manager at the apartment complex on Homewood Lane, also took cash that residents paid for rent. When confronted with the allegations, George admitted the charges, reports said.
Charged with grand theft and operating a scheme to defraud, George was released from the county jail in Land O'Lakes Wednesday morning after posting $10,000 bail.
SAN ANTONIO -- A 21-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday after she left three small children alone and headed to work, a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report stated.
Mabel Virginia Singleton of 20654 Blanchette Court in Dade City left a 2-month-old, 2-year-old and 3-year-old child alone on a front porch in San Antonio.
Deputies would not give the address of the home and didn't say whether the children were related to Singleton.
Singleton admitted leaving the children but said someone was coming to babysit them. The children were picked up by their grandmother and taken to her house, the report stated.
Singleton was charged with three counts of child abuse and taken to Land O'Lakes jail, where she remained Wednesday evening in lieu of $1,500 bail.
