Teen bicyclist runs red light, gets hit by car

TAMPA -- A 17-year-old bicyclist was injured Friday when he rode through a red light and into the path of a car on Causeway Boulevard, sheriff's officials said.
Tim Estes, of 1333 Foxboro Drive in Brandon, was hit by a Saturn driven by Kristina Hofman, 39, of 12227 Shady Forest Drive in Riverview. Hofman was eastbound on Causeway Boulevard; Estes was northbound on Gornto Lake Drive and pulled in front of the car, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
Estes was flown to Tampa General Hospital, where he was in fair condition Friday night.
Tarpon Springs man dies at Tampa drill work site
TARPON SPRINGS -- A man died Thursday of head injuries he received in an accident at work in Tampa. Peter M. Perhach, 49, of Tarpon Springs, a supervisor for CDK Drill Shafts Corp., was working at a drill site on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard when a piece of the drilling apparatus struck him in the head, according to Tampa police.
