Colin McRae Rally

  • PLATFORM: PlayStation
  • PRICE: $39.99
  • COMPANY: Sony

It's hard for a racing game to stand out, but Colin McRae does. Not only are there a number of well-designed tracks from eight countries, but the graphic effects of riding through mud, dirt and snow are phenomenal. Great control rounds out the package. Grade: A

Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense

  • PLATFORM: Nintendo 64
  • PRICE: $49.99
  • COMPANY: Activision

Now Nintendo owners can search and destroy in their very own vehicular combat game. This game contains all the features of the PlayStation version, including special weapons and tire add-ons, plus improved graphics. But it loses points for looser control. Grade: C

Chocobo Dungeon 2

  • PLATFORM: PlayStation
  • PRICE: $39.99
  • COMPANY: Square

This breezy, two-person role-playing game stars that weird species of Final Fantasy fame, the Chocobo. Leisurely explore dungeons and visits villages collecting items and spells, with or without the aid of a friend. Grade: B

Superbike 2000

  • PLATFORM: PlayStation
  • PRICE: $39.99
  • COMPANY: EASports

Superbike sounds like a great idea for a game. But it doesn't work well because of dull graphics and races. Bike fans may be willing to try it, however, for its choice of six models of sports bikes, 13 tracks and 20 actual pros. Grade: C+
