A 5-year-old boy hospitalized last week after he was struck by a car was expected to go home Monday evening.
Garrett Johnson was on a scooter in the 1400 block of Regal Road on Wednesday evening when he was struck by a Camaro, authorities say. Garrett was taken by helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg with a broken leg and cuts on his head and face, family members said. The driver was cited for having an expired tag.
Garrett remained at the hospital Monday afternoon listed in good condition. A hospital spokeswoman said his family planned to take him home Monday evening.
