Tax collector reminds taxpayers of March 31 deadline to avoid late fee

CITRUS COUNTY -- Janice A. Warren, Citrus County tax collector, advises all taxpayers who wish to pay their 2000 real estate or tangible personal property taxes without interest that they must do so no later than Saturday. Three percent interest will be charged as of April 1. All unpaid parcels will be advertised in the newspaper, and advertising charges also will be added. Payments postmarked before April 1 will avoid added charges.

If you own property and did not receive a tax bill for 2000, contact the tax collector's office with your property description and verify that your taxes have been paid. If you have questions, call the Inverness office at 341-6509.
