Air Force Staff Sgt. Robert D. Patt, son of Lynn and Walter Patt of Pinellas Park, was named noncommissioned officer in charge of the 56th Air Communications Squadron at Hickman Air Force Base, Honolulu. The unit is charged with providing communications between all units in the Pacific.

Patt is a 1989 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School.

Army Capt. Aristotle A. Vaseliades, son of Catherine and Nicholas Vaseliades of Gulfport, was promoted to his current rank in the Medical Services Corp. He is assigned to Headquarters Company, 1st Medical Brigade, 13th Corps Support Command, Fort Hood, Texas, where he is the biomedical information management officer.

Vaseliades is a 1993 graduate of Northside Christian School and a 1997 graduate of Florida Southern College where he earned a bachelor of science degree in biology and chemistry.
