mapSt. Petersburg has welcomed spring with the Festival of States for the past 80 years.

The 10-day community festival has changed a bit over time, but music and parades remain highlights, along with running events, car shows, kids activities, arts and crafts and more.

The Sam Robinson Tampa Bay Blues Festival Friday through Sunday kicks off the festivities.

Here are some other highlights:

Saturday:

Antique Auto Show, around Spa Beach and The Pier, downtown. 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Kids Artfest & SpringSation, North Straub Park, downtown. 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Junior Sungoddess Fashion Show, Tyrone Square Mall, 22nd Avenue and Tyrone Boulevard. 1 p.m.

Bayfront Criterium Bike Race, downtown, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Monday:

Pinellas County Schools' Concert & Jazz Evaluation, Palladium Theater, 253 Fifth Ave. N, 8:30 a.m.

5K Run, the Pier/Bayshore Drive, 6:15 p.m.

Illuminated Night Parade along Bayshore Drive, 8 p.m. Limited reserved bleacher seats available for $6.

Festival fireworks, 9:15 p.m., downtown waterfront.

Wednesday:

Awesome Original Second Time Arounders band performs at Tampa Bay Devil Rays game, 7:15 p.m., Tropicana Field. Tickets start at $4.

April 5:

Out-of-State Bands Concert & Jazz Evaluation, Palladium Theater, 253 Fifth Ave. N, 8:30 a.m.

Sungoddess Court versus Kids & Kubs' Softball Game, North Shore Park softball field, noon.

April 6:

Festival Coronation Ball and Pageant, the Coliseum, 535 Fourth Ave. N, 8:30 p.m. Tickets $50.

April 7:

PierFest Weekend with concessions, carnival, games, exhibits and more. The Pier through April 8.

Festival Parade, along Central Avenue and Bayshore Drive, begins 11 a.m. Limited reserved bleacher seats available for $6.

Marching Band Field Show performances, North Straub Park, 2 p.m.

Extreme Sports Fest, including BMX bikes, skateboarding and inline skating, Spa Beach Park, noon-7 p.m.

Custom Car Show, The Pier, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Arts and crafts show, South Straub Park, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

April 8:

Tasco Extreme SportsFest, including BMX bikes, skateboarding and inline skating, Spa Beach Park, noon-6 p.m.

Custom Car Show, The Pier, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Arts and crafts show, South Straub Park, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Diaper Derby, The Pier, 2 p.m.
