Arthur E. 'Gene' Henn, 60, Coast Guard official

TAMPA -- Vice Adm. Arthur E. "Gene" Henn, vice commandant of the Coast Guard from 1994 to 1996, died Wednesday (March 28, 2001) at Tampa General Hospital. He was 60.
Born in Cincinnati and a 1962 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, he was former chief of the Office of Marine Safety, Security and Environmental Protection at Coast Guard headquarters in Washington, D.C.
He retired in 1996 and last year bought a home in Tampa, a Coast Guard spokeswoman said Friday.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; and a son and daughter, David and Jennifer.
Burial will be April 11 at Arlington National Cemetery.
