CoMotion Dance Theater will present its Spring Dance Concert at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Fine Arts Auditorium. The performance will feature choreography by local guest artists and college faculty and by Damien Stevens, who toured with the Martha Graham Dance Company and Pearl Lange and is a musician and dancer in South Florida with the percussion ensemble Rivers of Time. Steve Seibert, director of Florida's Department of Community Affairs and former Pinellas County commissioner, will speak on Growth Management in Florida's Future, 6 p.m. Monday in the Campus Activities Center. Seibert will talk about balancing protection against urban sprawl with the rights of private property owners. This is part of "Ethical Issues in Florida's Future," a lecture series exploring issues that confront Florida in the 21st century.

Cuban filmmaker Gloria Rolando will bring her latest film, Roots of My Heart, to USF this week as part of a U.S. tour. The film, shown at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Davis Hall, Room 130, is about the genocide in 1912 of more than 6,000 members of the Independents of Color, an Afro-Cuban political party. The film also will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the University Lecture Hall on the Tampa campus, 4202 E Fowler Ave., Tampa. Call 553-3727 for information.
