Worms: Armageddon

  • PLATFORM: Nintendo 64
  • PRICE: $49.99
  • COMPANY: Infogrames

This is one of those games that you can play for hours, especially with friends. Control an army of worms, armed to the teeth, and engage in all-out tactical warfare with the enemy. Hilarious voices ice the cake. Grade: A

Hydro Thunder

  • PLATFORM: PlayStation
  • PRICE: $39.99
  • COMPANY: Midway

This hit arcade game made a splash on the Dreamcast, and now it's here for PlayStation owners to enjoy. Ride in one of nine futuristic powerboats across nine vivid tracks, collecting turbo boosts and looking for shortcuts. Great control and graphics make for a great game. Grade: B+

Triple Play 2001

  • PLATFORM: PlayStation
  • PRICE: $39.99
  • COMPANY: EASports

This game is similar to baseball: Either you love it or you don't. Baseball fans get all-time great players such as Babe Ruth and other rewards for making big plays plus the unique pitching and batting styles of star players. The game play isn't exactly thrilling, however. Grade: B-

Championship Bass

  • PLATFORM: PlayStation
  • PRICE: $39.99
  • COMPANY: EASports

Now here is a surprise: A fishing game that everyone will like. Beautiful lakes let you go anywhere in search of the catch. It has loads of lures and fishing conditions, but the epic battles with jumbo-size bass will really have you hooked. Grade: A-

Hydro Thunder

  • PLATFORM: Nintendo 64
  • PRICE: $49.99
  • COMPANY: Midway

The Nintendo 64 version of Hydro Thunder improves upon the PlayStation version's graphics, with brighter, smoother visuals. Then again, it lacks some of the options and speed of the PlayStation port. Either way, players can't go wrong. Grade: B+

CyberTiger

  • PLATFORM: Nintendo 64
  • PRICE: $49.99
  • COMPANY: EA

Don't confuse this CyberTiger golf game with the one on PlayStation. They play differently. This Tiger does have an addicting quality. It lets you retry almost every shot until you get it right, but it can't compare with Mario Golf. Grade: C+

Railroad Tycoon II

  • PLATFORM: PlayStation
  • PRICE: $39.99
  • COMPANY: Take2

If spending hours building a railroad empire appeals to you, then Railroad Tycoon II has it all. You can lay tracks almost anywhere in the world, fight the competition and play the stock market for everything it's worth. Players must have SimCity-like patience to apply. Grade: B-

Hot Shots 2

  • PLATFORM: PlayStation
  • PRICE: $39.99
  • COMPANY: Sony

While Hot Shots Golf was a surprisingly good game, its successor is a disappointment. Graphically, things look better, but the sounds have taken a dive. Worse, judging distances is harder. Grade: C+
