Pasco briefsBy MICHELLE JONES © St. Petersburg Times, published April 5, 2001 Water, planning agencies hosting workshopsTampa Bay Water, a government agency providing wholesale water to Pasco, Hillsborough and Pinellas counties and the cities of New Port Richey, St. Petersburg and Tampa, along with the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council are having public workshops this month. Tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. there will be a workshop at the Land O'Lakes Senior Center, 6801 Wisteria Loop in Land O'Lakes. Potential projects to supply the region's future drinking water will be discussed, and input from residents will assist planners in compiling a comprehensive list. Lions Club sponsoring Boy Scout bike rideThe Wesley Chapel Lions Club is one of the sponsors of the Boy Scout Daniel Stock "Off Road Bike Ride" on Saturday. Daniel is a member of Troop 148 who is working on his project to become an Eagle Scout. The ride will held at Trout Creek Park, Flatwoods Park on Morris Bridge Road. Registration is at 6:30 a.m. and the ride starts at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $17 and includes a continental breakfast, T-shirt and a picnic lunch at the end of the ride. Jellybean Jamboree scheduled for SaturdayJellybean Jamboree for children age 12 and younger is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Odessa Park, 1627 Chesapeake Drive in Odessa. This event is free and will feature games, a moonwalk, prizes, contests and a candy scramble. There will also be face painting, a disc jockey and interactive games. Book club meeting for discussionOprah's Book Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. April 14 to discuss The House of Sand and Fog. Tot's Night Out, an evening story time for children ages 1-5 is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday. Both of these activities will take place at the Land O'Lakes Branch Library, 2818 Collier Parkway. Great American Cleanup scheduled for April 21Registration for the Great American Cleanup of Florida is in progress. The event is scheduled from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. April 21, and participants will receive T-shirts, refreshments and community service award certificates. Cleaning items are supplied. Chamber of commerce holding meetingMembers of the Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce will meet at 5 p.m. April 18 at the Land O'Lakes High School for their monthly membership meeting. Quail Hollow PTA sponsoring carnivalThe Quail Hollow PTA is sponsoring a free Family Carnival featuring a music program, health fair, Taste of Wesley Chapel and an art show from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 26. The theme is the Fabulous '50s, '60s and '70s. Local restaurants will participate with samples of their favorite foods, and classic cars will be on display. Representatives from local health agencies will be there providing free information and services. The Citrus Park Regional Bloodmobile will be ther to accept donations, with donors receiving a free T-shirt.
