Actor/comic visits Improv
Remember the inmate in American History X who befriended Edward Norton's skinhead character? Or the former National Guardsman who runs off to California in ABC's The '60s miniseries? Then you've seen Guy Torry, the talented actor/comic who's headlining at the Improv this weekend. Actually, the acting gigs started for Torry after he'd started writing for sitcoms such as Martin and Moesha and premiered his stand-up act on HBO's Def Comedy Jam show and national tour.
The Improv is at Centro Ybor in Ybor City. Show times: 8 tonight; 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday; 7 (no smoking), 9:30 and 11:30 p.m. Saturday; and 8 p.m. Sunday. All shows are for ages 21 and older, except the last Saturday show, which is 18 and older. Seating is first come, first served. Tickets are $12-$16, depending on the show. Call (813) 864-4000.
