NEW PORT RICHEY -- River Ridge had three champions and three runners-up in Wednesday's Sunshine Athletic Conference girls meet.
Host Ridgewood, whose lone champion was Lauren Spena (108 pounds), placed two lifters in all 10 classes to win its third consecutive title with 46 points.
Wesley Chapel finished second with 43 points, and River Ridge finished third with 39.
"It's a numbers game," River Ridge coach Mike DeGennaro said, noting he had 13 lifters at the meet.
"It's like Ridgewood (which traditionally fields a large team) in track."
River Ridge's Emily Meyer (148) became the first lifter to win three consecutive titles. Gina Fredrickson (128) and Alyssa Robinson (183) also won titles for the Royal Knights.
But those finishes were not enough to offset top-three finishes by Ridgewood's Tracy Virga, Alyssa Moschetto, Emanda Doscher, Anna Lowe, Jill Kornick and Angie Brunda.
"They've established a tradition; something for the ones coming up to live up to," Ridgewood coach Kecia Starnes said.
Wesley Chapel had three winners: Ashley Martin (unlimited), Melissa Reed (168) and Leigh McIlwaine (158).
Katelyn Wojciek (118) and Kara Garcia (138) won titles for Land O'Lakes, which placed fourth.
Hudson's Kari Dorr (98) also claimed an individual crown.
"She's very competitive," Hudson coach Shannon Casel said of Dorr, a freshman. "In her mind, there was no other choice but to win."
