The Knights down Ridgewood 6-0 behind a one-hitter from Christine Beck.

NEW PORT RICHEY -- Pasco County's two winningest teams met Wednesday and the result reflected how they are headed in opposite directions.

Christine Beck's one-hitter led host River Ridge (17-2, 10-0 in the Sunshine Athletic Conference) to its 11th consecutive win, a 6-0 defeat of Ridgewood.

Meanwhile, the Rams (13-6, 8-3), who last week lost 2-0 to River Ridge, have dropped three of their last four games.

Brandy Kreig broke up Beck's bid for a no-hitter with a two-out single in the top of the seventh inning.

"That's okay," said River Ridge coach Ernie Beck, Christine's father. "It's a victory on the board."

Beck (12-1) had a perfect game going until she walked Melanie Boyer with one out in the sixth.

"I wasn't really thinking about the no-hitter," Beck said. "It's a sweet feeling knowing I have a defense like that out there."

Third baseman Jill Hrovski snared a line drive and leftfielder Amy Cassell ran down a fly ball near the foul line to back Beck's effort.

River Ridge put the game away in its first at-bat by scoring five runs in the first inning.

Hrovski, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored, highlighted the rally with a two-run single.

Stefani Simon drew a bases-loaded walk, the third consecutive issued by losing pitcher Bethann Blankenship (3-3), that scored Adrienne Cicirello, who led off the game with a single. Meagan Beach's sacrifice bunt scored Hrovski to close out the inning.

Hrovski singled in the fifth and scored on Beach's single to account for the final margin.
