WEEKI WACHEE -- Brenda Byers and The Neighbors Four will bring their brand of variety-style entertainment to Weeki Wachee this weekend.

"This is a real variety show," said Byers of the concert, which features pop, standards, show tunes, Dixieland, jazz and country music. "It's got everything."

During her three-decade career, Byers has performed at scores of major conventions, state and national farm shows, home builders shows and corporate gatherings.

Byers began singing professionally at age 13. Later, she was in the afternoon drama General Hospital and appeared regularly on the Arthur Godfrey Show for three years. She has been on the Tonight Show, Hee Haw and on the talk shows of David Frost, Mike Douglas, Merv Griffin and Joey Bishop.

After seven albums of mostly jazz and pop music, she turned to Nashville and had several country hits, including The Auctioneer, Wear My Shoes and the chart-topping Thank You For Loving Me.

With more than 150 songs either performed or represented in medleys, Byers said the show is quickly paced.

" It just moves so quickly," said Byers, a Connecticut native who now lives in Winter Park. "It's a very upbeat show."

Brenda Byers and the Neighbors Four will perform at 1 p.m. Saturday at Weeki Wachee Springs. Concert admission is part of the daily package: $15.95 for adults, $11.95 for children ages 3 to 10 and $13.45 for seniors. Weeki Wachee Springs is at U.S. 19 and Cortez Boulevard in Weeki Wachee.
