Two named best in state

Catherine Dupont of St. Petersburg Catholic and Dominique Redding of Clearwater earned first-team all-state honors by the Florida Sports Writers Association.

Dupont, this year's Times County Player of the Year, averaged 20.4 points and 13.2 rebounds SPC, which finished 25-4 and won the Class 3A, District 11 title. She will attend Rice this fall on volleyball scholarship.

Redding, a sophomore, was recognized in Class 4A after leading Clearwater to a 24-7 season that included a 4A-11 title. She averaged 20.1 points and 9.5 rebounds.
