Funds from fish fry go toward memorial

HOMOSASSA SPRINGS -- A group of Citrus County residents raising funds to support the creation of the Florida World War II Living Memorial will host a fish fry on May 19 at the Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park starting at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $7 for adults, $3 for children and are available from committee members and from the Nature Coast Tourism Development Inc. at 564-9197.

There will be entertainment, door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

The Citrus County Ad Hoc Committee is raising money to help create a permanent memorial in Tallahassee for those who served during World War II.

There will also be a traveling memorial and exhibits.
