WHO HELD ON FOR DEAR LIFE: Tournament winner Tiger Woods nearly holed his second shot at the 11th for eagle but settled for birdie, then gave it back with bogey at 12 before a two-putt birdie at 13; runner-up David Duval made three straight pars; Phil Mickelson followed a bogey at 11 with a par and a birdie.

WHO STUMBLED: Duffy Waldorf had an outside shot at the top 10 until he arrived at Amen Corner, where he made bogey at 11, bogey at 12 and triple bogey at 13; Stuart Appleby followed par at No. 11 with triple bogey and double bogey.

THE ROLLER-COASTER RIDE: Tom Scherrer started with bogey at 11, then made double bogey at 12th, followed by eagle at 13, playing Amen Corner in 1 over par; Padraig Harrington had bogey-birdie-triple bogey. And Brad Faxon went quadruple bogey, par, birdie.

Quotable

"It's an accomplishment for him that I don't know what you would compare it to because I don't know if there is anything you can compare it with." -- Masters runner-up David Duval on Tiger Woods winning the Masters for his fourth consecutive major championship
