Spring Hill subdivision plans win zoning council's supportBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published April 10, 2001 BROOKSVILLE -- Revised plans for a new subdivision in Spring Hill won unanimous support Tuesday from the Planning and Zoning Commission, which rejected the project two months ago. The board recommended rezoning of 41.2 acres west of Linden Drive and south of Sleepy Willow Court from agriculture to residential use for Cul-de-Sacs of Spring Hill. Initially proposed as 99 quarter-acre lots, the project now is proposed as 54 half-acre lots. The homes also would have a minimum size of 1,600 square feet. Those changes satisfied residents of the neighboring Oakridge Estates and Orchard Park subdivisions, who had protested the original design as incompatible with their perception of the area. County commissioners still must consider the rezoning. Project engineer, Lee Huston of Avid Engineering, said he expected construction would not begin for at least 150 days if county commissioners approve the change. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
