NEW PORT RICHEY -- Three men were charged Sunday with robbery, kidnapping and impersonating a police officer after deputies said they barged into an acquaintance's home and stole nearly $2,500 worth of items.
Arrested were: Peter G. Doucette, 23, of 6100 Madison St.; Steven M. Kenneman, 21, of 7722 Highwater Drive; and David W. Nicholson, 9251 Bourbon St., all of New Port Richey.
Deputies said the trio invaded a home in the 7000 block of Ivory Terrace in New Port Richey at 5 a.m. on March 19. The three men concealed their faces with "black material," said deputies, and brandished a BB gun that looked like a large handgun. They told three people inside -- the homeowner and two 17-year-old girls -- to get on the floor, a report said. They bound the victims' hands and legs with wire, placed tape over their lips, then robbed them.
Doucette, Kenneman and Nicholson were charged with, robbery-home invasion, kidnapping, aggravated assault, auto burglary and impersonating an officer.
In addition, Doucette was charged with forgery, uttering a forged instrument, grand theft and burglary.
The three are being held without bail at the county jail in Land O'Lakes.
