Relay for Life events plannedBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published April 11, 2001 Relay for Life 2001, an overnight, community-based, fundraising event for the American Cancer Society is designed to celebrate cancer survivorship as well as to raise money. Relay for Life will be held on a number of different dates and in various Pinellas and Hillsborough county sites. The fundraiser involves teams of people going to the site of their choice, taking with them camping equipment, chairs, radios, etc. Teams of 10 or more will "relay-walk" around the track from 6 p.m.-noon at each of the following sites: April 27-28:Dunedin High School Stadium, 1651 Pinehurst Road, Dunedin. England Brothers Bandshell Park, 5161 81st Ave. N, Pinellas Park. Osceola High School Stadium, 9751 98th St. N, Seminole. May 4-5:Largo High School Stadium, 410 Missouri Ave., Largo. Wharton High School Stadium, 20150 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa. Northeast High School Stadium, 1717 54th Ave. N, St. Petersburg. May 11-12:Tarpon Sports Complex, 150 Jasmine Ave., Tarpon Springs. May 18-19:Long Center, 1501 Belcher Road, Clearwater. Pepin/Rood Stadium (University of Tampa), 319 S Boulevard, Tampa.
