NEW PORT RICHEY -- Pasco-Hernando Community College will hold a clinic today to provide needy children with sealants for their teeth.

NEW PORT RICHEY -- Pasco-Hernando Community College will hold a clinic today to provide needy children with sealants for their teeth.

Sealants help prevent tooth decay, the most prevalent form of health disease among children, and they can cost up to $30 each, PHCC officials said. They can be painlessly put on the chewing surfaces of back teeth.

Children ages 7 to 14 from families who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford sealants can make an appointment to see dental hygiene students between 1 and 4 p.m. on the school's west campus, 10230 Ridge Road. The students will be supervised by a dentist and dental hygienists.

The clinic plans to see 40 kids and some openings were still available Tuesday afternoon, instructor Donna Low said.

For information or to make an appointment, call (727) 816-3281.
