53-year-old man faces sexual battery charges

A Crystal River man is charged with forcing a 12-year-old girl to have sexual intercourse with him on separate occasions from May to July last year.

Patrick Arthur Foss Sr., 53, of 6095 W Pine Circle, Crystal River, is charged with four counts of sexual battery. He is being held without bail at the Citrus County Detention Facility.

Foss is accused of forcing the girl to have intercourse with him at his house, at her mother's home and in his automobile on at least four occasions.

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about other incidents involving Foss to call Ed Gough at the Sheriff's Office at 726-4488, ext. 287.

Sheriff's Office looking for computer volunteers

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office wants volunteers with computer programming or software experience interested in assisting the agency for at least four hours a week in a variety of assignments.

In particular, the Sheriff's Office is seeking volunteers with programming experience with Unix or Windows systems. Additional training may be provided.

The Sheriff's Office will require prospective volunteers to fill out an application and submit to a criminal background check. Applicants must be 18. The agency also invites applicants to fill other needs, from fingerprinting to driving community patrol vehicles.
