Post Office extends hours to handle tax mailings

ST. PETERSBURG -- The St. Petersburg Post Office will extend its business hours at three locations Monday for the tax night rush, Postmaster Thomas Pawlowski said Thursday.

Extended hours will be 8 a.m. until midnight at the main post office, 3135 First Ave. N. IRS representatives will be present to handle extension requests or problems with tax returns.

The Crossroads station, 1299 66th St. N, and the Gateway station, 701 77th Ave. N, will take mail until 9 p.m.

Meanwhile, mascots from the Devil Rays and the Fourth Street N Chick-Fil-A will be at the main post office in the evening, where U-92 radio station (WYUU-FM 92.5) is scheduled to broadcast live and Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be available.
