Did you learn to cook at your mother's elbow? When making dinner in your own kitchen do you hear her voice guiding you while you sift, sear or simmer?

In honor of Mother's Day, May 13, we want to know the best cooking advice your mother ever gave you. Share Mom's most indispensable advice in no more than 100 words (about the length of this item) and we may include it in an upcoming Taste section story.
