Game reviewsBy ROBB GUIDO © St. Petersburg Times, published April 17, 2000 Eagle One Harrier Attack
Here's a game for anyone looking for a realistic flight combat game. You'll enjoy the dogfights and well thought out story this one offers. Grade: A Jackie Chan Stuntmaster
Jackie Chan is one of my favorite action stars. So wouldn't his fun style of martial arts make a good game? It does, adding foreign objects and acrobatics to your typical beat-'em-up game with entertaining, if not groundbreaking, results. Grade: B MLB 2001
The better of the two major baseball franchises this year has to be 989Sports' MLB 2001. Almost every facet, from pitching to fielding, is faster and more fun. Baseball fans should leave Triple Play 2001 in the dugout and buy this one. Grade: B+ Rayman 2
Dreamcast seems to be going through a "translate everything from PlayStation and Nintendo 64 with only superficial graphical changes" phase. Rayman 2 fits this description. Not that there is anything wrong with this character-based action game. It's just that players deserve something new. Grade: B- F1 2000
This game is obviously geared toward Europe, where Formula One racing is popular. The wear your car takes is cool, especially when tires pop off, but American speed freaks will wish it were faster. Grade: C+ Barbie Race and Ride
I wouldn't bother with this boring horse-riding game. Here's an idea for game companies: Put as much effort into games for girls as you do for boys. Grade: D © St. Petersburg Times. All rights reserved. |
