Basket-weaving class slated at Heritage VillageBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published April 17, 2001 LARGO -- Anne Stewart will teach participants how to weave a rib basket featuring the "God's eye" and a ceramic lady bug from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Village, 11909 125th St. N, Largo. Materials will be provided, but attendees have to bring certain items. They should also bring lunch or snacks and are encouraged to wear old clothes oran apron. Makeup session offered for female cancer patientsLARGO -- A free makeup session, "Look Good, Feel Better," will be presented from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday in the main-floor meeting room of the Sun Coast Hospital, 2025 Indian Rocks Road, Largo. It is for female cancer patients or survivors who have experienced hair loss, loss of skin moisture or changes in their skin tone. A professional cosmetologist will demonstrate makeup techniques, hairstyles, skin care and the use of wigs, scarves and turbans. Each participant will receive a free makeup kit. Teleconference on grief scheduled at 2 sitesLARGO -- On Wednesday, the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast will serve as a local host for a live-via-satellite video teleconference. The eighth annual Living With Grief teleconference will be broadcast from 1:15 to 4 p.m. at two locations: the Pinellas County Cooperative Extension Service, 12175 125th St. N, Largo, and the Allstate Campus of the St. Petersburg Junior College, 3200 34th St. S, in St. Petersburg. It is for health professionals and students in the health care field. To earn continuing education units, participants are asked to remain for the entire program. Moderated by Cokie Roberts of ABC News, it will feature a panel of experts. The teleconference is produced by the Hospice Foundation of America. For information on the conference, call 586-4432. Financial workshop for women scheduledLARGO -- A financial management workshop for women, Taking Control, will be offered twice at the Largo Library auditorium, 351 East Bay Drive. It will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today and from 7-9 p.m. Thursday. The instructor will be Gloria J. Patterson, a certified financial planner with ProVise Management Group Inc. of Clearwater. The workshop is free, but reservations are necessary to receive a free 150-page workbook for the class.
