CLEVELAND -- Andre Miller scored 19 points, including the winning free throws with 58 seconds to play, as the Cavaliers edged the Knicks 80-78 Monday night.

New York, playing without injured Marcus Camby and Larry Johnson, lost for the fourth time in six games and fell 1 1/2 games behind Miami for the third playoff seed in the Eastern Conference.

New York can still gain the No. 3 spot but must defeat Detroit in its final game while Miami loses its last two games.

HORNETS 106, HAWKS 83: Host Charlotte continued its push toward the playoffs and clinched sixth in the East. The Hornets trail fifth-place Toronto by a half-game.

DISCIPLINE: The Trail Blazers suspended star forward Rasheed Wallace, who has been ejected seven times this season and has a record 41 technicals, for throwing a towel in the face of teammate Arvydas Sabonis during Sunday's game.

Also, the league fined Sacramento guard Jason Williams $25,000 for "inappropriate conduct directed at fans," and Minnesota forward Kevin Garnett $7,500 for making an obscene gesture to an official.

WNBA

The league hosts a free-agent camp 9 a.m.-6 p.m. today at St. Petersburg's Walter Fuller Recreation Center. Several coaches and scouts will be at the invitation-only camp for players not invited to the predraft combine.

Miami forward and former East Bay standout Katrina Colleton will be on hand. The 1993 Maryland graduate was discovered at a similar camp.

The event is free and open to the public. Games will be from 10:50 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 2:30-6:15. The Fuller Center is at 7821 26th Ave. N.
