PTA general meeting
Pinellas County Council of PTAs will hold a general meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the school district administration building, 301 Fourth St. SW. Doretha Jackson, parental support coordinator for Pinellas County Schools, will discuss parental involvement. The public is welcome to attend.
People's Law School, a free community service provided by the Clearwater Bar Association, offers presentations on various topics from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays in the teaching auditorium at the Clearwater campus of St. Petersburg Junior College, 2465 Drew St. Educators may attend sessions to earn points toward recertification. The sessions do not require homework, and there is no advanced registration. Seating is limited. Upcoming topics are Small Business and Intellectual Property on Thursday and Public School Law on April 26. For information, call the Clearwater Bar Association at (727) 461-4869. Kennedy Middle School will hold Family and Friends Fun Night 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday at 1660 Palmetto St., Clearwater. The community event will feature presentations on the School Choice Plan and various teaching strategies. Entertainment will be provided by Kennedy Middle School Band, Clearwater High School Jazz Band and Color Guard and the Dunedin High School Steppers. Festivities also will include book, craft and plant sales. Barbecue dinners will be served. The cost for dinner will be $5 for adults and $3 for students.
