Former resident in Easter TV service

Former St. Petersburg resident the Rev. Laurinda Hafner and her congregation will be featured Easter Sunday on ABC-TV.

Hafner's church, Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Cleveland, will present an Easter service that was taped Saturday. The service, which will be broadcast at 1 p.m. on WFTS-TV Ch. 28, will include choral music, theater, African drums and the Gospel read in English and Spanish. Hafner's sermon is titled "Between Terror and Amazement."

A graduate of Boca Ciega High School, she was ordained in 1979 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 1150 49th St. N., where her father was the minister. She is the daughter of the Rev. Donald W. and Colleen Hafner and sister of state Rep. Lars Hafner.
