All saltwater fish feed during specific times coinciding with the movement of the tides. Pinpointing these active bites will increase your hook-ups dramatically.

Twice a month we see swift tidal movement called spring tides for six or seven daysat the full moon and new moon phases. The first and last two hours, when water speeds up or slows, produce the most action.

The other two weeks of the month, the tides become sluggish and water levels are minimal. Tactics change at this time. The tides flow quicker for about an hour midway through the slow period, producing action. This occurs during the half-moon phase. As water movement slows, the bite ends.
