Robert Hastings of Orlando uses chains to "tie down" carnival rides on flat train cars Tuesday. The rides, part of the carnival put on by James E. Strates Shows Inc. of Orlando, were being loaded so they could be taken home after the show's owners decided to pack up after only three days. The show was scheduled to be in the parking lot of Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg through Sunday, but the owners said the three-day turnout was the worst they had experienced in 12 years.
