NEW PORT RICHEY -- Today is the one day when you can toss a pie in a deputy's face and not get arrested.

Pasco County Sheriff's deputies will raise money for the American Cancer Society during today's "Pie in the Face" event. Law enforcement and corrections deputies, along with school resource officers and other agency employees, will participate.

A $5 donation per pie is requested, $3 for students.

The fundraiser will be from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Sheriff's Office at 8700 Citizen Drive, New Port Richey, behind the County Courthouse.

The event is sponsored by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office and Publix.
