TAMPA -- Winners of the Tampa Bay Parade of Homes 2000 were announced Tuesday night at an awards banquet presented by the Builders Association of Greater Tampa and the Pasco Building Association Inc.

The parade, a two-week showcase of new construction, featured 128 model homes from 51 Tampa Bay area builders.

Grand and merit awards for single-family homes by price category are:

nUnder $100,000: Grand Award: Engle Homes, St. Andrews at Lake Bernadette. Merit Award: Pulte Homes Corp., Ride at Meadow Pointe.

n$100,001-$130,000: Grand Award: Lennar Homes, Geneva at Meadow Pointe. Merit Award: Pulte Homes Corp., Glenn IV at South Point.

n$130,001-$144,000: Grand Award: Centex Homes, Remington at Cambridge Villas. Merit Award: Lennar Homes, Hampton at Pavilion.

n$144,001-$159,999: Grand Award: Kimball Hill Homes, Newport I at Westchase. Merit Award: Bay Hill Homes, Avalon IV at Bloomingdale.

n$160,000-$170,000: Grand Award: David Weekley Homes, the Kelson at Meadow Woods. Merit Award: Westfield Homes of Florida, Mayfair at Westwood Lakes.

n$170,001-$190,000: Grand Award: Watermark Communities, Canterbury at Walden Lake. Merit Award: Lennar Homes, Willow at Tampa Palms.

n$190,001-$200,000: Grand Award: Westfield Homes of Florida, Royal Palm at Westchase. Merit Award: American Heritage Homes, Chatham at Lake St. Charles.

n$200,001-$260,000: Grand Award: M/I Homes, Corsica II at Cross Creek. Merit Award: Mobley Homes, Kodiak at Cheval.

n$260,001-$290,000: Grand Award: MacRiley Homes/Tucker Division, Balmoral II at Bristol. Merit Award: David Weekley Homes, the Bordeaux at Eaglewood Estates.

n$290,001-$300,000: Grand Award: Morrison Homes, Wilmington at River Hills. Merit Award: Nohl Crest Homes, Carrington at VillaRosa.

n$300,001-$350,000: Grand Award: Nohl Crest Homes, Ashbourne at Lake Jovita. Merit Award: Chadwell Homes, Callaway IV at Valrico Forest.

n$350,001-$455,000: Grand Award: Schmidt Brothers Executive Homes, Sanctuary 3200, The Preserve at Buckhorn. Merit Award: David Weekley Homes, Dartford at FishHawk Ranch.

n$455,001-$580,000: Grand Award: Westfield Homes of Florida, Four Seasons at Deer Creek. Merit Award: Hannah-Bartoletta Homes, Dartmouth II at Lakes of Wellington.

nMore than $580,001: Grand Award: Alvarez Homes, Spyglass at Reserve of Old Tampa Bay. Merit Award: Hannah-Bartoletta Homes, Cheval Bristol II at Cheval.

Also recognized were builders who received 2000 Water Wise Awards, sponsored by the University of Florida Cooperative/Florida Yards and Neighborhoods; Tampa Bay Water; Hillsborough County Utilities; and Tampa Water Department.

The winners in their respective home-price categories were:

n$130,000-$250,000: First place, Chadwell Homes, Sawgrass at Valrico Grove; second place, M/I Homes, Oxford III at FoxWood in Trinity.

nMore than $250,000: First place, Rundle Construction, Hampton at FishHawk Trails; second place, Hyde Park Builders, Swann at FishHawk Trails.

The 2000 Energy Excellence Awards, sponsored by Tampa Electric Co., went to these in their price categories:

n$144,000 and under: Suarez Housing Corp., Palm Beach, Longleaf at Meadow Pointe.

n$144,001-$159,999: Inland Homes, Kensington, Westchase.

n$160,000-$200,000: Westfield Homes, Mayfair, Sawgrass at Westwood Lakes.

n$200,001-$260,000: Morrison Homes, Ansley II, Chardonnay at Cheval.

n$260,001-$300,000: MacRiley Homes/Tucker Division Inc., Balmoral II, Bristol Green.

n$300,001-$350,000: Southern Crafted Homes, Siesta Key 3300, Kingshyre at Cross Creek.

n$350,001-$455,000: First Dartmouth Homes, Poinciana, Palm Bay.

nMore than $455,001: Westfield Homes, Four Seasons, Deer Creek.
